Honourable Colonial Secretary,

re Persian Opium.

The Macao Gazette of 18th February records the

arrival at Macao of S.S. Kumamoto Maru on 15th February,

from Bushire. The cargo is described as "Diversa”.

2. The vessel on leaving Sabang on 4th February

declared her destination as Macao, and her cargo as 404

chests of opium. She is stated to have left Bushire

on 19th January with 696 cases of opium declared for

Vladivostock.

This vessel left Macao about a month before with

a declared destination, Paraguay, and at the sametime an export of opium to Paraguay appeared in the Macao

returns.
